You have a need to honor your beloved pet—and that is all right. Grief does diminish eventually, but there is no schedule or time limit for grief. If you are not coping well, you may wish to seek counseling or find a support group. At Chesapeake Pet Crematory, we can assist you in finding a pet grief counselor or self-help group. There are wonderful people and organizations ready to help you through your grief as well as understand it. It can take a while to sort out all that you are feeling. A new pet cannot replace your old pet, but it can help ease the pain. Only you can decide when the time is ready to shower your love onto another pet.
